FAQs
What services do you offer your potential customers?

I offer Photography, Videography and services targeted at Writers. I also offer potential customers who are passionate about learning the craft of Screenwriting as well.

What equipment do you use for Photography and Videography?

The Camera I use for both Photography and Videography is the Canon EOS 6D, which was manufactured and released in 2012, about the same time as the ever popular Canon EOS 5D Mark III Camera that Professionals use and swear by. This camera has a 35 mm size image sensor, which means that the camera can capture more of the image than the more budget cameras and HDSLR cameras in the still and moving image category. I also use equipment that produces professional grade sound, and this is key. They say half of your principal motion Photography is having good or great sound. The other half is the image quality. For most Videography projects, I have a Shotgun Microphone that is specifically designed to go on top of the Camera's hot shoe mount, and can be connected via the 3.5 mm jack to the Camera's Microphone socket. For projects that require a more professional sound, I have a better Shotgun Microphone that usually plugs into a portable Audio Recorder with professional connectors.

Why don't you have a professional Camera like the 5D Mark III?

Photography and Videography is an art, and it's more to do with the Photographer and the Videographer, and the lenses used on the camera than the camera itself. A lot of people have this misconception that it is the camera or the equipment that the Photographer or the Videographer carries with him that makes or breaks the product he delivers to his customers, but it is the Photographer who produces the image is what makes or breaks the quality of the image itself. Most professionals swear by the expensive gear they have in their arsenal because of the plethora of features that the gear has to offer that Photographer or the Videographer. Think about it. You scour the internet and other sources at your disposal for a Photographer, and you are more interested in him getting the job done than the impressive gear that the Photographer has in his / her arsenal.

Tell me more about your services for professional and aspiring writers alike.

I mostly offer writers my Screenplay coverage service. This is the part where I read a Screenplay sent to me, analyse the story, as well as the overall idea of the screenplay, provide feedback that they can take away and improve on their screenplay on areas that I identify as the ones that do not work. This can be done via telephone, using internet services like Skype and Viber.

You can choose to go with a more established firm that offers you screenplay coverages and pay in excess of over $200, but with me, not only are my prices reasonable, I also give your screenplay the undivided attention it deserves. The same cannot be said for other screenplay consultancies and services because they have people who may or may not read your screenplay in its entirety.

What else do you offer writers?

For those who are interested in learning the craft of Screenwriting, I offer private tutoring, which will introduce you to the Screenwriting fundamentals, the do's and don'ts of Screenwriting and the business of Screenwriting.

Why should I choose you to help me learn Screenwriting over an established university or institution?

An excellent question. When you approach an established and or well-recognised university or institution for learning Screenwriting basics, you are paying a higher premium, and they're not really helping you be a great or fantastic writer. They will simply guide you to transform your idea into a professionally written script that can be sold to the Film or Television industry. What they cannot do (maybe because of policy restrictions), is challenge your idea or help you understand how screenplays of great films and television shows are written. They will not ask you the right questions when it comes to you, the writer, and your motivation for becoming a screenwriter. They will, however, ask you the right questions about your story and your characters, which you can use to better shape your story. They will discuss finished films by showing those films in class and recommend books to read, but they will never (as far as I know), help shape your writing in ways that it will make you a writer who is constantly in high demand. I've seen a lot of Screenplays, where the action descriptions read like a novel, and not like the descriptions you'd expect from a professionally written screenplay. In the Film and Television industry, any professional will tell you: "Show, don't tell".

Also, when students graduate from the class, they are under the impression that their target audience is the general population, which isn't true. It is someone from the industry who is most likely to read your screenplay.

I can learn Screenwriting from reading books and attending seminars. Why should I pay you for that?

There are plenty of books that will tell you how to write screenplays, and very few or no books telling you how not to write a screenplay. The books will never tell you what your target audience is. The books will never ask you the writer questions about your motivations about being a writer. If you're lucky and you know where to look, there are a few books that will tell you how to write unforgettable characters, and there are books that will tell you how to take a good screenplay that you have written and turn it into a great one. You can ask for recommendations, but then again, opinions do vary in size and shape. I have read a lot of the popular ones from my time in Los Angeles, and will boil it all down for you in an understandable package. If you take the university route, you'd be paying in excess of over tens of thousands of dollars. When you finish learning Screenwriting from me, I offer a free consultation valued at $70 or more. Any consultations after that, will be at the standard rates.

What other services do you offer?

I offer my clients Video editing services too. I also edit what I videograph for my clients. There is a cost for this. It is charged at the same rate as my Photography and Videography services. I use an NLE software package called Final Cut Pro X, but I have also received training in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and of course, the industry standard Avid Media Composer. Once again, it is the editor that makes or breaks the final product, and not the tools used.

Great. Where do I go from here?
